What a day! Lots of sun, drinking, eating and reading...not necessarily in that order.
This morning at breakfast I had just finished going through the buffet line and as I was walking back to our table I came across Sally at this little beverage cart with a bottle of champagne/sparkling wine. She is trying to open the bottle and suddenly the cork shoots off into the air. As I stand there wondering what she is doing the cork plops onto my plate of food and she proceeds to fill a very large glass with the champagne. Wish I had a picture for you. "Ooopsie, I was just getting this for you!" Now that we have the attention of everyone in the restaurant I quickly take that glass and rush to our table outside. For the next 30 minutes or so most people who leave the restaurant look at us on there way our and laugh, obviously a witness to Sally´s champagne opening skills.
On our way to the beach we meet Victor from the Grill who insist that we come have lunch in his station, over looking the ocean and pool. We find a wonderful spot on our private beach area and Louis comes by quite frequenly with a cold drink. The water is a little cloudy today but still cool and inviting. After a couple of hours in the hot sun and a nice walk down to the marina we head back to the Grill to have lunch with Victor. It is only his 22nd day working here but he is very attentive and lots of fun.
After lunch we head to the spa to see about getting appointments for messages. Then to the concierge desk to see about setting up a tour to go to the island . With our massage appointment set for 5:30 we head back to the pool to find a float.. no such luck but we do find more champagne and a hammock - not the most comfortable so we opt for the private pool outside our building.
The spa is a new experience we start an hour early with a marina wellness circuit. There are 8 stations and it is quite intensive. The first stop was the steam room we were suppose to stay 5 minutes, Sally lasted about 2 it is hard to relax in a steam room when you have the giggles. Next was the lower back jets, then the roller bar bed with jets of water pulsing below you. Next was the bubble chamber, you stand in this little alcove and water jets out of the ground all around you, sounds simple enough but not really there are bars to hold onto and it was necessary even for an avid swimmer. The other stations are more water jets and such I guess to loosen you up for the massage which was nice and very relaxing.
We had hibachi for dinner tonight with Canadiens, New Yorkers and a couple from Phoenix.
Tomorrow we are going on a Sailing Cruise to the island. Time to find some more Champagne!
Yes I did survive the couchette on the balcony, Sally is going to give it a try tonight.. I give her two hours, before she climbs in the bed with me. I may have to head back to my couchette.
Sorry not many pictures today we´ll try to get more tomorrow.
